The hardtop accounted for 32,731 units, while the convertible was significantly less popular with only 3,635 cars. The Judge continued to be offered, but if you want a rare car, look for a Judge convertible. Only 162 units were produced, and few are still alive today.

Pontiac hoped the market would recover, and GTO sales would return to growth. The GM brand decided to stick with big engines, and a 400ci unit with 350 horsepower was standard. Buyers who didn't mind spending extra could get the Ram Air III at $158, while the almighty Ram Air IV could be had for $558.

A highly optioned GTO ended up significantly more expensive, especially because air conditioning wasn't included in any of these packages. This means that you had to get an engine upgrade and air conditioning separately, so the final costs of the GTO pushed the car beyond what many people were willing to pay.

It could also suggest that the car has already been restored, and the Vintage Air Conditioning was installed to deal with issues or missing parts in the original air conditioning system. In any case, the best approach is to contact the seller and ask all these questions before making an offer.

The GTO looks to be in tip-top shape, and I don't know about you, but I absolutely adore the 1970 styling. Sure, it's not the best GTO year, but it's a reminder that the American car space gradually killed off one of the most iconic models it produced.

The car has a working radio, an interior in good condition, and bucket seats. The black vinyl top also looks good, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that this GTO received at least a partial makeover and new paint.

If you have such a car in excellent shape, which I think this is where this specimen fits, you should be able to get $46,000 for it. A Concours condition increases the price of a 1970 GTO to nearly $58,000.

The owner $42,500 for this GTO, so if everything is as advertised and you won't find any big reasons to walk away, this car is priced right. However, I must insist on a live verification because that's the only way to make sure that this GTO is the real deal.

The car is parked in Asheville, and considering its shape, you should be able to drive it home on its wheels. This means you can fly in and drive home, though if the miles are original to the car, you may not want to add any unnecessary miles to an otherwise fantastic GTO. A clean title is also available.
