The Airports Authority of India (AAI) marked Yatri Sewa Diwas at Visakhapatnam International Airport on Wednesday with a series of community-focused and passenger-centric initiatives, reflecting its commitment to service excellence and social responsibility. The day began with the lighting of the traditional lamp at the domestic arrival area. Arriving passengers were welcomed with 'Tilak' and roses, symbolising AAI's warm hospitality and deep-rooted cultural values.

In collaboration with ZPH Girls High School, Gopalapatnam, a quiz and painting competition was conducted, drawing participation from over 50 quiz contestants and 100 young artists. These events reinforced AAI 's connection to the local student community.

Performances by artists from Nrithya Bharati Dance Academy were held at multiple terminal zones including the arrival, and departure areas. These performances added an artistic charm to travellers experience.

As part of its green initiative, 20 saplings were planted by senior citizens and dignitaries such as P.V.N Madhav, Gandi Babji, Kinjarapu Prabhakar, Koona Ravi Kumar, and airport personnel.

Interactive selfie booths were installed at the arrival, departure, and city-side terminal zones. Additionally, a blood donation camp in association with the Visakha Blood Bank and a free eye check up camp was organised for taxi and cab drivers in association with Vasan Eye Care.

An informative booklet titled 'Opportunities' was distributed to create awareness about various career prospects within the Airports Authority of India (AAI) as well as employment opportunities available with various airline operators.

Feedback forms focusing on cleanliness, facilities, and service quality were circulated among passengers.

Airport Director N. Purushottam said that the insights gathered will serve as key inputs for further enhancing passenger experience at the airport.
