On Friday, Arsenal announced a major reshuffle at board level, with former executive vice-chair Tim Lewis leaving the club and Richard Garlick becoming CEO.

"Rich has made an enormous impact on all fronts as we continue to strive to win major trophies, be financially sustainable and put our supporters at the heart of everything," said Josh Kroenke, Arsenal co-chair and son of majority shareholder Stan Kroenke.

"At this moment, we would like to thank Tim for his continued dedication and commitment to Arsenal in a period of transformational change for the club. He has played a pivotal role and ensured we are in a great position to continue to deliver our strategy in our ambition to win major trophies."

Long-serving director, Lord Philip Harris of Peckham, remains but four other figures have joined the board, with three heralding from Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) and one joining from the world of film and television.

"The group know and love Arsenal, and will bring a different skillset and expertise while injecting fresh thinking and energy to support us all to achieve our ambitions," Josh Kroenke added.

Here, The Athletic takes a look at the new appointees and the experience they bring with them.

Garlick is a figure already known to Arsenal supporters, having joined the club in 2021 as director of football operations.

He began his professional career as a solicitor, specialising in sports law, before joining West Bromwich Albion in May 2010 as director of football administration, a role he held for over eight years. He led contract negotiations at the team, as well as talks with agents, coaches and other clubs. After seven straight seasons in the top flight, West Brom were relegated to the Championship in Garlick's final season at the club.

"Rich had a charm and a grace that meant he was possibly the only person to arguably fail in a job and be given another one by Peace," a former West Brom colleague told The Athletic in 2021. "He clearly had something about him. He was very sharp and very astute."

"He's a good negotiator," one agent said. "Very calm, very fair. I've known him to have an agent lose their rag with him, screaming and shouting, and he doesn't let it sway him."

Garlick became the Premier League's director of football in August 2018 with a wide remit where he oversaw the youth department, liaising with academies and managing competitions from under-nines level through to the under-23s. He also helped implement the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) and represented the league on the board of Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), English football's refereeing body.

The 48-year-old joined Arsenal in May 2021, leading football operations and administration across the men's and women's teams and was involved in recruitment, contract negotiations and budgeting. He was promoted to managing director in May last year, replacing Vinai Venkatesham, who went on to join rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

An Arsenal season-ticket holder for more than three decades, Winston has joined the club as a non-executive director.

Son of famed professor Robert Winston, he is a producer and director with 13 Primetime Emmy awards and 35 nominations to his name.

The 43-year-old co-founded British production company Fulwell 73 in 2005, with James Corden becoming a partner in 2017.

He has worked as an executive producer on several editions of the Grammy Awards, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The X Factor UK and The Kardashians, as well as several television specials and documentaries focused on musicians, including Harry Styles, Adele and Take That.

Winston calls David Rocastle his first Arsenal hero and that he became "obsessed" with the club when he was a young child, describing his first Arsenal game -- a 1-1 draw with Liverpool in 1990 -- as "a hugely significant moment in my life".

"I remember walking up the stairs to the West Lower and seeing that pitch," he told arsenaladdict.com in 2023. "I still remember the gasp of my breath as I saw Highbury for the first time.

"It was a big moment because I'd been obsessed with football for a really long time, so the build-up to that first game was huge for me."

Missouri native Maly joins as a non-executive director. He is president and director of special projects at KSE, overseeing the day-to-day running of the holding company.

He is also the chairman of American real estate development company Maly Commercial Realty, which he founded following a decade at the Kroenke Group real estate and development firm.

Another new non-executive director Blaha also joins. At KSE, she has served as senior vice president of sports finance since October 2022.

She worked as a senior accountant for Fiji Water and a senior associate for British accounting firm PwC before serving as an audit partner for American accounting company EKS&H.

Steiner is the co-founder of the Colorado-based EKS&H (Ehrhardt, Keefe, Steiner & Hoffman) with experience in public accounting dating back to 1975. The company operated in a variety of fields including energy, high tech, transportation and real estate development before merging with fellow accounting firm Plante Moran in 2018.

He is described by Arsenal as a "long-time advisor" to KSE, with the club adding that his arrival alongside Maly and Blaha "will bring the KSE family closer together and offer a wide range of expertise to strengthen Arsenal."

Steiner has also joined as a non-executive director.
