GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) -- Rain returns to the western slope as Tropical Storm Raymond pushes moisture into the region. Mostly cloudy skies are expected today with the highs only reaching the mid-sixties. Breezy conditions can be expected as well. Tonight, expect the cloud coverage to stick around. Overnight lows sit in the low fifties, making the biggest temperature difference only 12 degrees from the high to low.

Another round of highly anomalous moisture from Tropical Storm Raymond moves up from the south Monday into Tuesday. A Flood Watch remains in effect for the southern San Juans and adjacent valleys. Total rainfall amounts in that area are 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts upwards of 3 to 4 inches possible. Unsettled weather continues for much of the week as another system moves in from the west bringing more showers and storms to eastern Utah and western Colorado.

While the cold front has left the region, drier air moving in keeps temperatures cool today. Chances for showers sit low to kick off the week, but another low pressure system is dropping south along the west coast. That will push the moisture already in that region out, and closer to western Colorado. Flood watches remain in effect until tomorrow afternoon. Snow levels for this event are expected to start around 10-13 kft so there could be minor accumulation at pass level Monday morning.

Last Friday, Grand Junction had its wettest day in over 50 years. With 1.35 recorded inches of rainfall, it's the most rain the region has seen since 1974. It is also the seventh wettest day on record. As moisture from Tropical Storm Raymond advects into the area, flooding risks are still possible. According to Accuweather, there is some risk of flash flooding in Phoenix and Albuquerque, New Mexico, as well as Durango and Montrose, Colorado, as the moisture from Raymond extends farther north for a time. However, downpours in these areas will be sporadic and not widespread.
