Radio and TV host Amanda Holden has revealed that her daughters don't like listening to her when she's on the airwaves, as she often drops personal bombshells about family life.

Amanda hosts the Heart FM Breakfast Show with Jamie Theakston between 6:30am and 10am, and has confessed that her daughters are usually forced to tune in because her husband Chris Hughes puts the radio on in the car.

Amanda, 54, was telling the Tea at Four podcast about how she's trying to bring up her daughters Lexi and Hollie to be strong and hard-working, before insisting they have no interest in what she does.

However, this doesn't mean there haven't occasionally been clashes, including a recent incident when Amanda mentioned her eldest daughter Lexi's boyfriend's name live on air.

She said: "I'm trying to bring my girls up to be strong and hard-working. They both have no interest in anything I do, they're pd off with me all the time."

When asked whether they listen to her show, Amanda said: "Only because my husband puts it on in the car on the school run, otherwise they just wouldn't, and they hate it because I mention them a lot.

"I dropped my daughter's boyfriend's name into the public arena. She was like, she's at uni, she was like, 'Mummy, did...get a mention this morning?', 'Yeah and I mentioned his mum!' I love doing shout-outs."

The Britain's Got Talent judge has urged her daughters to become resilient if they do want a career in the spotlight eventually.

The Inner Circle host recently told The Sun: "You do have to develop a thick skin and they both know that Mummy has one and that we take everything with a pinch of salt in our house.

"So I hope they've learnt enough from me. Because, obviously, there's been moments around the dinner table and they've heard things and watched things, but they're quite disinterested in me and my career."

Whilst Amanda has been managing her bond with her daughters, her overall family has recently gotten bigger, with the arrival of a rescue cat to her home in Cobham, Surrey.

The cat joins fellow feline Muffy and two rescue dogs, Minnie and Rudy, as part of the Holden clan. Sharing a photo of the new arrival on social media Amanda said: "Our lovely rescue from Corfu is settling down and the dogs are quite chilled! Princess Muffy has deigned to come downstairs a few times and sniff about but is still making her displeasure heard!

"We've named him Bolt because he's super quick! And can climb over the six foot gate we put in the kitchen door to keep him safe!

"There are lots of strays in the world, including our country- they are everywhere but there are so many amazing people doing their best to help.
