The Rabanne 1 Million Elixir Parfum Intense 50ml is currently priced at £47, down from £79, saving shoppers £32. It's made from hand-harvested Turkish Damascena Rose, Osmanthus, wild Tonka beans, supported by 'ingredients of extraordinary quality' to create an 'accord of wood and black vanilla', according to Boots.

1 Million Elixir Parfum Intense features the signature gold bar bottle, and the elixir variant brings a more refined scent that's the 'pinnacle of intensity from 1 Million', according to Boots. With an average rating of 4.7 out of possible five over 14,140 reviews, the time-tested but 'classy' scent has been praised by shoppers as being long-lasting and head-turning.

Alternatively, savvy shoppers could look at Debenhams' Armani Emporio Armani He Eau De Toilette, currently priced at £31 to £35 in 50ml and 100ml sizes, down from £59 and £70, saving shoppers up to 50%. With top notes of citrusy Japanese Yuzu Accord, middle notes of Cardamon Essence, and base notes of White Musk Accord and Vetiver Accord, it offers a luxurious woody aroma at deal-friendly prices.

Shoppers could also look at Argos' Hugo Boss Man Extreme Eau de Parfum - 75ml, currently priced at £58. This one boasts a masculine scent comprising lavender, sage, geranium cedarwood and fir resin, and the manufacturer describes it as 'intense and alluring'.

Buyers of the Rabanne 1 Million Elixir Parfum Intense 50ml at Boots found the scent to be excellent with great projection from afar, perfect for everyday use. One said: "Fresh and classy. The scent is so smart and refreshing and it projects from afar. I would definitely wear this day or night."

Another, originally posted on influenster.com added: "Phenomenal, this is one of the nicest fragrances I've had. It's so powerful and long lasting you only need a small amount. The look of the bottle is quality, it's worth its weight in gold."

Other shoppers were happy to see Rabanne's signature fragrance reinvented. A third review, also from influenster.com said: "Ever since the original 1 Million came out it has been a staple in my collection. Not all shoppers felt the same however, and some felt it was best saved for special occasions such as date nights. It may not be an all rounder but for these specific occasions it's sweet perfection in a bottle. The price you pay is incredibly reasonable considering the amount of heads that will be turning."
