A beloved Gogglebox family have unveiled a member of their clan for the first time and fans are over the moon.

Since the long-running Channel 4 show began way back in 2013, viewers have been introduced to countless iconic families up and down the country.

These include best pals Jenny and Lee in Hull, married couple Andrew and Alfie from the Cotswolds and siblings Amira and Amani in Northern London.

The Worthington family - from Manchester - have also become firm favourites. Consisting of mum Alison, her partner George and her son Helena, they joined the show in 2017.

Away from the programme, accomplished artist Helena is in a relationship with partner Dan. She is also a proud mum to six-year-old Irwin.

On Tuesday (October 21) though, the Worthington family took to Gogglebox's Instagram page and shared a video of their adorable new cat.

In the clip, Alison said: "So by public demand, we want to introduce you to someone very special...." George then added: "Just before we do some filming," before turning to the camera to show Helena cuddling a black cat.

She declared: "Who's this! Awww!" She started kissing the cat but Helena admitted: "Oh you smell. Oh I think he released something then," as she placed their new pet down.

The video was captioned: "New cast member announcement." And unsurprisingly, fans went wild in the comments section at the family's new arrival. One person said: "Love love them."

Echoing their thoughts, someone else penned: "Love them Helena is so funny." A third chimed in: "Aw I love that."

When she's not on Gogglebox, Helena herself is an accomplished artist based at Islington Mill, where she focuses on sculpting and painting.

Her artwork has been displayed in prestigious venues such as The Whitworth Art Gallery and The Manchester Open at Home, and her paintings have found homes in various private collections.

In a candid chat with ilovemanchester.com, Helena opened up about her personal life. Reflecting on what sparked her artistic journey, she shared: "When I was very little I used to draw on the walls and in my mum's cookbooks and then blame it on my brother... so I guess that was the start of things."
