Kate Perry breaks her silence on romance with Justin Trudeau with one-line quip at London O2 Arena show

Katy Perry broke her silence on her romance with Justin Trudeau with a cheeky onstage comment during her concert at London's O2 Arena on Monday night.

The singer is currently on her Lifetimes world tour and playing two nights at the venue.

Addressing the crowd during her set, she said: "London, England, you're like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school?

"No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time... but not anymore."

The singer also received a surprise marriage proposal from a fan during the show but turned it down.

She laughed: "I wish you'd asked me 48 hours ago."

The comments came just days after photos emerged of Perry, 40, and former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, 53, kissing and embracing on board her yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.

The photos, obtained by the Mail on Sunday, seemingly confirmed speculation about their relationship.

The unlikely couple were first seen spending time together less than a month after Perry announced her split from ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares five-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, in July this year.

The pair were spotted dining together at upscale Montreal restaurant Le Violon.

The following night, the former Canadian Prime Minister was spotted in the crowd at Perry's concert in the city with his teenage daughter.

Sources told The Sun the pair have been secretly dating since the start of the summer.

"They haven't been able to spend a lot of time together as she's on tour, but they're constantly in contact -- always FaceTiming and messaging each other," an insider told the newspaper.

Trudeau, who was Canada's Prime Minister from 2015 to 2025, split from his wife Sophie in 2023 after 18 years together. They have three children together.

Perry's second show at the O2 is tonight.
