Fans share their 'heartbreak' over the bands break-up announcement

KODALINE have announced two Irish farewell shows this summer.

The band - One of the biggest Irish bands of the modern era - will perform at Virgin Media Park in Cork and Dublin's Malahide Castle.

The band announced their separation on Thursday.

They will play Virgin Media Park on Friday, June 19, before heading north to Malahide Castle on Saturday, June 20.

Tickets priced from €54.85 - €65.70 go on sale at 9am on Friday via Ticketmaster.

Announcing their split, the band said: "After over a decade together we've made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Kodaline.

"We know this might come as a surprise, and it's definitely bittersweet for us too.

"What we've shared with you has changed our lives forever. From busking on the streets of Dublin to selling out shows and arenas across the world, it really has been the stuff that dreams are made of.

"We are, and always will be, forever grateful for your love and support. It's been a journey that we will never forget and we hope the music stays with you long after we're gone."

The singers explained how they wanted to "go out on a high" by going back to the studio to record one final album for their loyal fans.

This will be the band's fifth and final studio album.

The video message finished off with the band saying: "We are and always will be, forever grateful for your love and support.

The All I Want rockers have lit up stages across the UK and Ireland since 2012 - and even headlined Electric Picnic in 2024.

The band comprises of lead singer Steve Garrigan, drummer Vincent May, guitarist Mark Prendergast, and bassist Jason Boland.

Heartbroken fans all flocked to the comment section to react to the news.
