Kristen Bell fully admits she and her husband Dax Shepard are polar opposites, so they've experienced all kinds of challenges in their 12-year marriage.

'Having someone I feel that is very opposite from me is certainly something that I feel. I feel like my real-life husband and I are "opposites attract,"' the 45-year-old Frozen alum explained to People on Thursday.

'But that doesn't mean we couldn't make it work, or didn't want to make it work.'

Kristen went on to explain that she and the 50-year-old Armchair Expert podcaster 'have to have a lot of patience for each other to figure out what the compromises would be.'

Bell continued: '[We have] a general understanding that we're probably going to have different viewpoints on almost everything -- and figure out a respectful way to have those discussions.'

The Michigan-born couple - who originally met at a dinner party in 2007 - are proud parents of 12-year-old daughter Lincoln and 10-year-old daughter Delta.

Bell and Shepard have both limited the comments on their Instagram accounts, and she cancelled a scheduled TODAY appearance following controversy over her tone deaf wedding anniversary post from Saturday.

The three-time Emmy nominee wrote, 'Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: "I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I'm heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would."'

To make matters worse, October happens to be Domestic Violence Awareness month.

On Monday, an inside source told the Daily Mail: 'Kristen and Dax are both pretty volatile people and can blow up over the smallest issue. Sometimes Kristen or Dax will say something they think is a fun dig and the other one gets offended. They have a strange dynamic but it seems to always work out in the end.'

Kristen and Dax 'often don't talk for days' after a major blow-up, but they still manage to 'keep their kids in the dark about their arguments.'

Bell executive produced and reprised her role as agnostic podcaster Joanne in the 10-episode second season of Erin Foster's critically-acclaimed rabbi rom-com Nobody Wants This, which premiered Thursday on Netflix.

Her onscreen leading man Adam Brody's wife Leighton Meester guest stars as Abby this season, but don't expect Shepard to do the same.

'I would of course want him to come on the show. He would never do it -- he's kind of retired from acting,' the All In Food co-founder told People.

Kristen will next reprise her voiceover role as Anna in the original special Lego Disney Frozen: Operation Puffins, which premieres this Friday on Disney+.

Bell also plays Anna in Jennifer Lee and Marc Smith's animated three-quel Frozen III, which is already scheduled to hit US theaters November 24, 2027.

The Golden Globe nominee will portray Mrs. Claus in Tommy Wirkola's Christmas horror sequel Violent Night 2, which Universal Pictures will release on December 4, 2026.
