Lily Allen has hinted she wasn't given any answers when she learned of ex-husband David Harbour's infidelity. The Alfie singer, 40, and Stranger Things actor David began dating in 2019 before they tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2020.

After four years together, they quietly went their separate ways towards the end of 2024, with their separation confirmed earlier this year. The singer, who is gearing up to release an album, has since spoken candidly about her split from the actor, 50, and its impact on her and her children.

After ending their four-year marriage last December, Lily revealed she became suicidal following the discovery that David had a secret profile on the celebrity dating app Raya.

In a recent interview before her album, West End Girl, drops this month, Lily said she was left having to join the dots on what happened in their relationship.

"There are definitely some things that happened in my real life that are reflected on this record," she said, adding how the dating scene gets harder now that she's in her 40s.

"It's bitterly disappointing," she explained to Perfect Magazine. "There's an element of humiliation and shame around it. The world doesn't portray women of my age as being desirable."

She went on to said what was going on in her life was 'really confusing' as she 'didn't actually know' what was happening.

"So there's a certain amount of, like, joining dots. When you are not given answers, your brain is full of lots of questions," Lily added.

After David reportedly joined Raya, she also made a profile, posing as someone "looking for women", and found David had already created a profile, which left her in "agony."

According to a report, the star has since signed up to a £8,000-a-week trauma treatment centre following the devastating split.

Despite her struggle, Lily also revealed to British Vogue she "came close to relapsing on drink and drugs and developed a really, really bad problem with food."

She admitted, "I've had real problems with food over the past few years. [In the thick of the break up] it got really, really, really bad."

The singer, sober for six years, described how the despair was overwhelming. "The feelings of despair that I was experiencing were so strong. The last time that I felt anything like that, drugs and alcohol were my way out, so it was excruciating to sit with those [feelings] and not to use them."
