Strictly Come Dancing's Karen Carney has been wowing audiences with her impressive dance moves.

The ex-England footballer, who is partnered with Carlos Gu, confessed to feeling anxious about trading the pitch for the dance floor.

Last week, the Strictly duo performed a Cha Cha Cha to 'She's A Lady' from the 2000 action comedy film Miss Congeniality, featuring Sandra Bullock.

Despite receiving praise from the judges in previous weeks, last week's feedback was less complimentary, leaving fans fuming.

Guest judge Cynthia Erivo commented on their performance, saying: "you let loose and I was so pleased, you're wonderful". Head judge Shirley Ballas remarked "power-packed, you executed difficult choreography but refine it", reports Wales Online.

Anton Du Beke told Karen and Carlos: "Wow, too much physicality and front-on at times but terrific". Craig Revel Horwood was less impressed, saying: "Spiky, sort out your arms but you put every inch of yourself in and have fantastic potential".

Karen and Carlos are hoping to return to their winning form in tonight's ballroom showdown.

This isn't the first time former Lioness Karen has been emotional on screen.

After the Lionesses' devastating World Cup final defeat when Spain triumphed in Sydney, thanks to Olga Carmona's brilliant goal securing a 1-0 victory and their first major international title, Karen was visibly upset.

England were on the hunt for another international triumph under manager Sarina Wiegman, following their European Championship win last summer.

They secured their spot in the final after hard-won matches against Nigeria, Colombia and Australia, but Spain showed their prowess with a well-deserved victory.

Carmona's first-half goal was the game-changer, and even a half-time tactical change by Wiegman couldn't shift the result, according to the Express.

A stunning penalty save by England's Mary Earps kept hopes alive in the final moments, but La Roja held on, sparking jubilant celebrations at the final whistle.

Shortly after, Carney was asked for her take on the result.

"I'm struggling for words," she admitted to ITV, holding back tears.

"That group there, I thought we had it. We were so confident going into the game, but it only took one brilliant moment to decide the game for Spain.

"I'm struggling. I'm gutted because the players gave everything on the pitch but Spain were exceptional tonight. We were just beaten by the better team. We just weren't quite there today."
