Lee Sung-min, Kang Ha-neul join sequel as father and son with stronger audience response

[OSEN=Ha Su-jeong Reporter] Director Yoon Je-kyun has raised expectations for 'International Market 2'.

The KBS 1TV movie talk show 'Life is Cinema', airing tonight (the 19th), will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Busan International Film Festival by revisiting films representing Busan alongside director Yoon Je-kyun, a filmmaker 'loved by Busan'.

On this day, director Yoon, who achieved the myth of 20 million viewers through 'Haeundae' and 'Ode to My Father', revealed behind-the-scenes stories of how he insisted on the movie title 'International Market' despite opposition, driven by his desire to introduce Busan's International Market -- filled with his memories -- to the entire nation.

Director Yoon stated, "There were many suggestions to change the movie title to something more global, but to me, International Market is my hometown itself," explaining why he insisted on the title that captures the scents of Busan's alleys and the warmth among its people.

He also dropped hints about his upcoming film 'International Market 2', currently in preparation. "In the scenario stage, the general audience monitoring score came out better than Part 1," he said, heightening anticipation.

When MC Lee Jae-sung asked, "Should we prepare handkerchiefs again this time?" film critic Geu-ri Eop-neun-da responded, "Handkerchiefs aren't enough. A roll of toilet paper is a must!"

Following Hwang Jung-min from Part 1, actors Lee Sung-min and Kang Ha-neul have been cast as father and son in 'International Market 2', which will explore generational stories, sparking curiosity about the film.

Meanwhile, director Yoon's unexpected sense of humor also shone. When Geu-ri Eop-neun-da, who had sharply criticized Yoon's works, seemed embarrassed, Yoon imitated the iconic line "I know~ I know~" from the character Kim Pan-ho (played by Jo Jin-woong) in the movie 'Nameless Gangster', leaving the studio in chaos.

At the end of the broadcast, director Yoon said, "This is the first interview that's so hectic yet sincere. Today will stay in my memory for a long time," drawing attention to the episode's blend of sincerity and humor.
