A former Emmerdale actor has swapped the Dales for Hollywood in a major career move.

Actor Alexander Lincoln shot to fame playing Jamie Tate on the ITV soap, making his debut back in 2019. As the son of icon Kim Tate (Claire King), Jamie became a firm-favourite with viewers.

He also played a part in several big storylines on the soap including his tense relationship with Kim and fathering a child with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).

But in 2021, actor Alexander left the soap and Jamie was last seen on screen after faking his own death in a car crash. With his mum Kim convinced he'd passed away, Jamie secretly went to live with daughter Millie and her gran.

Since his soap stint, Alexander has remained booked and busy, appearing in the likes of BBC soap Doctors, comedy-drama series Everything I Know About Love and award-winning film, In from the Side.

What's more, Alexander also bagged a role in a Hollywood movie The Groomsmen: Second Chances, which has made history as the Hallmark Channel's first-ever gay wedding story film.

Alexander plays Zack in the movie, which was released last week in the US, and he stars alongside the likes of Mean Girls' Jonathan Bennett, B.J. Britt and Owen Davis.

The movie follows Danny (Jonathan Bennett) who heads to Greece to plan his friend and business manager Zack's (Alexander Lincoln) wedding to a lawyer. But soon enough, Danny realises he has feelings for Zack and is in love with him.

Lead actor Jonathan recently took to his Instagram and gushed about working with Alexander. He said; "Alex Lincoln appreciation post: Alex you are the true star of The Groomsmen Second Chances.

"When I set out to tell the first gay wedding story on Hallmark, I knew that this role would be crucial to the film success. Alex has the thing you can't explain, he has that 'it factor' that makes you love him from the moment he walks into a room, or walks one screen.

He continued: "His acting is superbly grounded and raw and real and it makes you lean forward in your seat to watch what he's saying. This movie couldn't have turned out the way it did without this man, he was the glue that helped glue The Groomsmen together.

"Not only does he make us belly laugh daily on set, but he lights up the screen with such a different energy that keeps my character grounded. It's no wonder he's becoming a super star in the industry because when you've got it, you've got it.

"I will forever be grateful to you, Alex, for coming into our film universe and helping make history at Hallmark and making all of us shine."
