Heston Blumenthal has come up with a brand new menu - featuring mini versions of his dishes for weight loss jabbers.

The celebrity chef has created a smaller version of the menu to tailor dinners to guests who may have a smaller appetite because they are on weight loss medication.

The restaurateur and TV chef says his "alternative selection" of tasting courses at The Fat Duck will "deliver the same flavour and theatre" but just in a smaller format for less hungry guests -

He is catering for those taking appetite-suppressing drugs such as Wegovy and Mounjaro with the reduced quantity menu, which is also smaller in price.

The Mindful Experience menu sees dishes up to 50% smaller for £275 - which is £75 cheaper per head than the normal menu named The Journey.

All the weird and wonderful creations are the same, including the Nitro-Poached Aperitif, a frozen cocktail puff made with liquid nitrogen, and the Crab & Passionfruit 99, which reimagines a seaside ice-cream cone with crab and passionfruit.

Heston said he was inspired to make the change, after taking the weight loss jabs himself.

Blumenthal was prescribed Mounjaro to help manage weight gained as a side effect of his medication for type 1 bipolar disorder.

He said: "What struck me was the feeling of not being hungry.

"I still wanted to eat, but I didn't feel that drive. It made me think - this is going to kill the restaurant industry, because if people aren't eating as much, restaurants won't be as enticing. I'm not sure what will happen to supermarkets either.

"I don't think this change is bad for health. It could actually be very good for people. But it will affect alcohol, wine, food consumption, even supermarkets. I've even heard airlines could save money on fuel. This is only going to escalate in the next couple of months, and already millions of people are on these drugs."
