Donald Trump says "phase two has started" on his grand plan for a "new Middle East". Today, all living hostages were freed from captivity in Gaza as the US president made a call for a peace deal between Israel and Palestine.

Taking plenty of credit for the political move, he told Israel's parliament the Gaza peace deal marks "the historic dawn of a new Middle East". Addressing the Knesset for more than an hour before signing the peace deal in Egypt on Monday afternoon, the US president said: "This is not only the end of a war.

"This is the end of an age of terror and death and the beginning of the age of faith and hope, and of God. It's the start of a grand concord and lasting harmony for Israel and all the nations of what will soon be a truly magnificent region. I believe that so strongly. This is the historic dawn of a new Middle East".

In Egypt for an International peace summit with other world leaders, including Keir Starmer, Trump was asked what the next step was for the peace deal.

He said "they" would complete the "pretty gruesome task" of looking for bodies. Another reporter asked when "phase two" of the operation would start, to which he said it already has.

Trump noted: "As far as we're concerned phase two has started and the phases are all a little bit mixed in with each other".

The president finished by noting that they'd be looking at Gaza, and added that it needed a "big clean up".

Trump is no stranger to considering giving the war-torn Gaza Strip a 'makeover'. Back in February of this year, Trump shared a 'grotesque' AI-generated "Riviera" video showing the territory transformed into a lavish paradise with exotic beaches and Dubai-style skyscrapers.

Among the luxury yachts and God-like golden statue of Trump, an AI version of the US president is seen to be sipping on a cocktail with Israeli PM Netanyahu while a mock-up of his billionaire bestie Elon Musk is seen eating hummus on a beach.

The video was slammed by social media users who branded it a "grotesque fantasy" which displayed "absolutely no care for the multitude of innocent lives lost".

And the intrepid commenters of X were not going to let the president forget his previous repost, either, with many tonight (October 13) reflecting on his so-called "Gaza Trump Hotel".

One social media user wrote: "How is he a peacemaker when he funded the destruction of Gaza at the hands of thousands of Palestinians and their women and innocent children being slaughtered for the land grab. Trump Gaza resort and hotel next while they destroyed families".

Another added: "And now he finally deserves his Trump Gaza Hotel in this project of his son-in-law". A third noted: "Here comes the world bankers to build in Gaza and Trump Hotel and Golf course. Trump and Jarod will make millions and millions with others".
