Trophy Club Byron Nelson extended its winning streak to 62 matches going back to last year with a pair of impressive wins over the last week.

Byron Nelson (26-0, 6-0 District 4-6A), ranked No. 1 in the nation by MaxPreps, won a matchup of nationally ranked teams Friday, sweeping No. 30 Keller 25-15, 25-12, 25-19. Washington pledge Kylie Kleckner had 19 kills, 13 digs and four blocks, Texas A&M pledge Sophee Peterson added 43 assists and 11 digs, Savannah Sterna finished with 17 digs and Kherynton Chinnis and Mallory McMahon combined for nine blocks in what was also a matchup of the top two Class 6A teams in the Dallas area.

Byron Nelson came back Tuesday and won 25-14, 25-20, 25-17 against a Northwest Eaton team that had been in The Dallas Morning News area rankings earlier in the season. Kleckner had 24 kills and 13 digs, Rice pledge Ashlyn Seay added 16 kills and 18 digs and Peterson had 48 assists for Byron Nelson, which has still lost only one set this season.

Southlake Carroll (19-4, 4-2 District 4-6A), ranked No. 33 nationally, had a big win Tuesday, beating a Justin Northwest team that was ranked No. 3 in the area in 6A at the time. San Diego State pledge Layla Austin had 20 kills and 19 digs in Carroll's 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 win, and freshman Mariel Elizondo contributed 16 assists as Carroll handed Northwest its first loss in District 4-6A and moved up to No. 2 in the 6A area rankings.

Plano West (18-4 overall) is in first place in District 6-6A after Tuesday's 21-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-15, 15-8 win over nationally ranked Allen. Plano West moved up to No. 3 in the 6A area rankings with the win and leads 6-6A by a half-match over Plano (5-1), with Allen and Plano East both sitting at 4-2.

Prosper handed area-ranked Plano its first district loss in 6-6A, winning 25-11, 20-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-13.

There are six Dallas-area teams ranked in the top 36 in the nation this week, with the others being No. 27 Mansfield, No. 28 Plano Prestonwood Christian and No. 36 Allen.

Flower Mound (23-7, 3-0) has won 12 matches in a row and is tied with Hebron for first place in District 5-6A. Mansfield (34-1, 3-0 District 3-6A) has an even longer winning streak, having won 18 in a row after a three-set sweep of Crowley on Tuesday.

Frisco Liberty (21-3, 3-0 District 11-5A) remained No. 1 in the area 5A-others rankings, but barely. Liberty had to go to five sets Tuesday to beat Frisco Centennial for its 15th straight win.

Jaiden Harris had 21 kills, Maddie Lagrone added 14 kills and Emersyn Fink had 13 kills in Liberty's 25-19, 19-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-9 win. Harris and Morgan Ferguson each had 28 digs and Riley Wong led the team with 33 assists.

McKinney North improved to 3-0 in District 9-5A with a 25-8, 25-4, 25-16 win over Anna for its ninth straight win. Texas A&M pledge Gabi Rodriguez achieved a milestone for McKinney North, reaching 2,500 career digs.

Argyle won a matchup of area-ranked 5A teams, beating Colleyville Heritage 25-21, 26-24, 21-25, 15-25, 15-7. That leaves Argyle (24-3, 3-0) a half-match ahead of Birdville in District 6-5A.
