A "hidden gem" seaside village with "golden sands" and "postcard" views offers a fantastic day out. Hope Cove, situated in the South Hams region of South Devon, has plenty to charm visitors seeking stunning coastal scenery.

TikTok user @storky_adventures praised the destination in a video that gained thousands of likes. She said: "This might be one of the best coastlines in Devon. Tucked away is a small seaside village with golden sands, turquoise waves and a charm that makes it feel untouched.

"It's got a couple of pubs and restaurants, but it's got such a relaxed feel to it. And from here, you can set off along the Southwest Coast Path, a stretch that will take you to South Milton Sands and past Thurlestone and all the way to Banham.

"Every step is just stunning sea views, fresh air and you can stop off for a bite to eat, go for a dip in the sea. And you've also got Salcombe not too far away. There's so many beautiful areas to explore in South Devon."

According to Visit South Devon, Hope Cove attracts families and photographers. The tourism board explained: "Hope Cove is made up of two sandy beaches, Inner Hope and Outer Hope, in the South Devon National Landscape (previously AONB), between Salcombe and Thurlestone.

"Accessible via a picturesque walk along the South West Coast Path, or a short drive from Kingsbridge, this secluded cove offers a sense of serenity and seclusion, creating a dramatic backdrop for sunbathers and photographers alike. With seasonal lifeguards and water quality designated as excellent, Hope Cove's beaches are great for families to visit.

"The northernmost, smaller of Hope Cove's two beaches, Outer Hope, also known as Mouthwell Sands, is generally the more popular of the two for families, swimmers and watersports enthusiasts. Plus, the mix of sand and rocky areas on means it's great for sandcastles."

The tourism board continued: "The fantastic beaches and the proximity of the village make either of the Hope Cove beaches an ideal destination for (at least) a full day out. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or simply a peaceful retreat by the sea, Hope Cove Beach promises an unforgettable experience amidst the natural splendour of Devon's coastline.

"With its pristine sands, clear waters, and welcoming village atmosphere, it's no wonder that Hope Cove remains a favourite destination for visitors to the region. Facilities at Hope Cove Beach include toilets, beachside restaurants and bars, and shops selling beach essentials and refreshments."

The Inner Hope beach is a peaceful spot perfect for coastal swimming -- calm, clear waters and sheltered by the cove, making it ideal for a refreshing dip.

"Just around the corner, the Harbour Beach is great for families, with gentle shallows for paddling and sand to play on between the boats. At low tide, you can even walk between the two beaches -- a lovely little adventure in itself. A really special place."

A second said: "Two small coves with a lovely granite cliff backdrop. Coastal path flanks this lovely area. Busy even on a windy winter day. Small village centre with car park containing several pubs, post office etc."
