Kakao Entertainment has announced an exciting slate of fall projects for its management label actors, spotlighting a lineup of leading actresses often referred to as Korea's "queens."

Kim Go-eun returns with Netflix series

Kim Go-eun stars in Netflix series "You and Everything Else," released Sept. 12, which has already entered the Top 10 across 14 countries, including Korea, according to FlixPatrol. Kim plays Eun-jung, a character whose candid charm contrasts with her complex, decades-long friendship with Sang-yeon (Park Ji-hyun). The series traces their relationship through multiple life stages, from the 1990s to the 2020s, with evolving fashion and emotional depth.

Kim is also set to return later this year in Netflix's "The Price of Confession," where she will portray a mysterious figure known as a "witch" among prison inmates for her psychological insight.

Suzy explores fantasy romance

Suzy will captivate global viewers starting Oct. 3 with the Netflix series "Genie, Make a Wish," a fantasy rom-com about a genie awakened after a thousand years who meets Ga-young, a woman devoid of emotions.

Suzy will also appear in the film "Seven O'Clock Breakfast Club for the Brokenhearted," based on a novel about people coping with loss by exchanging "souvenirs of heartbreak." She plays Sa-gang, a flight attendant navigating a breakup. The project was officially invited to the competition section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival.

Han Hyo-joo heads Japanese Netflix series

Han Hyo-joo will return Oct. 16 in Korean-Japanese Netflix series "Romantics Anonymous," co-starring Shun Oguri. She plays Lee Hana, a gifted chocolatier with social anxiety, in a romantic comedy about two individuals brought together by chocolate.

IU and Park Bo-young gear up for 2026

IU, who recently starred in the Netflix hit "When Life Gives You Tangerines," will next headline MBC's "21st Century Grand Prince's Wife" (working title), set in an alternate Korea governed by a constitutional monarchy. She portrays Seong Hee-joo, the ambitious daughter of a rich family.

Park Bo-young, who impressed earlier this year with a dual role in tvN's "Our Unwritten Seoul," will headline the Disney+ original series "Gold Land." Scheduled for release next year, the drama follows airport security officer Hee-joo, who becomes entangled in a violent struggle after stumbling upon gold bars tied to a smuggling ring. The series explores her transformation as she grapples with greed and betrayal.

With five of Korea's most celebrated actresses returning across platforms and genres, Kakao Entertainment is positioning itself at the center of this fall and next year's drama landscape.
