Play was suspended twice in the fourth quarter because of lightning in Fort Worth.

After two weather delays in the fourth quarter, TCU defeated Baylor 42-36 at Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday in Fort Worth.

TCU quarterback Josh Hoover completed 22 of 31 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Kevorian Barnes led TCU with 106 rushing yards on 25 carries and had two touchdowns.

Play was suspended twice in the fourth quarter because of lightning in the area. The first delay was for nearly an hour and the second was for about 30 minutes.

After falling behind 28-10 in the third quarter, Baylor clawed its way back into the game. Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson completed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jadon Porter in the third quarter and kicker Connor Hawkins converted on a 41-yard field goal to start the fourth quarter to cut TCU's lead to 28-21.

However, TCU had a quick response. Running back Trent Battle broke free for a 65-yard rushing touchdown just before the first lightning delay to extend the Horned Frogs' lead to 35-21.

Play was suspended again for lightning with 6:44 remaining. Shortly after, Barnes rushed 14 yards for another touchdown, extending the lead to 42-21.

Baylor tacked on two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Keaton Thomas recovered a fumble by Hoover and returned it for a score. Robertson completed a 35-yard touchdown pass to Kole Wilson with 38 seconds left, but there wasn't enough time left for Baylor to mount a comeback.
