South Korean tech integrates diagnostics into charging stations, enabling real-time battery health checks without extra equipment

HEI, a South Korean company specializing in AI-based battery diagnostic solutions, has embarked on a full-scale market entry across the United States by forming an official partnership with Eneridge, a U.S. operator of EV charging stations.

Through this agreement, Eneridge will integrate HEI's AI-based battery diagnostic technology into its charging station network. Consequently, drivers will be able to check their battery's health status, performance, and remaining lifespan in real time while charging. HEI's technology, a "Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS)" battery intelligence solution, requires no additional equipment or sensors. It analyzes noise data from current and voltage accumulated during routine charging to quantify battery conditions and predict future performance degradation or anomalies.

This technology is evaluated as a concept where charging alone performs a "health checkup" for batteries, similar to periodic health monitoring replacing expensive medical checkups. Through this, drivers can detect battery degradation or abnormal patterns early to prevent fire risks, while manufacturers or fleet operators can manage battery reliability and residual value.

This contract marks HEI's first official partnership with a U.S. nationwide charging infrastructure provider. Eneridge will not only provide diagnostic services through its charging stations but also serve as HEI's exclusive distributor in the U.S. The companies plan to supply HEI's technology to various B2B partners, including other U.S. charging networks, EV fleet operators, and energy companies, to expand HEI's commercialization in North America.

It develops and operates fixed and mobile charging systems, directly managing charging stations across California. By combining AI-based battery diagnostic technology, energy fintech platforms, and renewable energy technologies, it aims to realize smarter and more sustainable electrification.
