Hyatt Hotels has introduced its lifestyle brand Caption in Australia and the Pacific with the opening of a new property in Central Sydney, New South Wales.

The Caption by Hyatt hotel is situated in Sydney's Haymarket and features 174 rooms.

It is located near major transport options such as the Light Rail and Central Station, as well as prominent sites including the Capitol Theatre and Chinatown.

The hotel offers a venue accessible to both the local community as well as international and domestic travellers.

A central feature of the hotel is Talk Shop, a facility that functions as a café, bar, co-working area, and event space.

Chef Yammi Cheung leads the culinary offering at the Talk Shop.

Talk Shop hosts a range of events, including live music, poetry sessions, and Mahjong nights.

The hotel also incorporates work by several artists including Sydney-based Chris Yee, Melbourne artist Samy Baby and Japanese-Australian Hiromi Tango.

Caption by Hyatt Central Sydney has implemented sustainability measures including sourcing food and beverages locally, using energy-efficient systems, and managing food waste.

The interior design approach by Mitchell & Eades focuses on the use of recycled and reused materials and encourages engagement with local creative professionals.

Caption by Hyatt Central Sydney forms part of Hyatt's global expansion of the brand, which already has locations in cities including Osaka, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Nashville.

The Caption by Hyatt Namba Osaka hotel provides 167 rooms and a range of amenities.

Recently, the brand opened its second hotel in Japan in Kabutocho, Tokyo.
